The AFU General Staff has confirmed the strike on the Russian Progress plant. The military enterprise has stopped work indefinitely
“It is confirmed the defeat of the facility by at least two drones and the subsequent large-scale fire. The results of the defeat are being clarified,” the General Staff said in a statement.
It is at this plant that key components for Russian heavy combat vehicles – electromechanical drives, hydraulic systems, and control units – are manufactured.
They are critical for the operation of self-propelled howitzers and Iskander missile systems, without which the missiles are unable to reach the target.
The plant also produces a key element of Russian defense against Ukrainian electronic warfare systems – the Kometa antenna.
This antenna is used in Iskander-M, Kalibr, Kh-101, Kh-69 cruise missiles and new variations of kamikaze drones.
Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian military launched a targeted strike on a facility of the Russian security services.
Pilots of the Ukrainian Air Force dropped two French AASM Hammer precision-guided bombs from a MiG-29 fighter jet.
