The U.S. wants to deport Elon Musk
Former White House advisor Steve Bannon called billionaire Elon Musk “illegal” and called for his deportation from the country.
This all came after a high-profile verbal altercation between Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump, The Hill writes.
“An official investigation into his immigration status should begin because I firmly believe he is an illegal alien and should be deported from the country immediately,” Bannon said.
Musk was born and raised in South Africa before immigrating to Canada and then moving to the U.S., where he gained citizenship.
Last year, the Washington Post reported that Musk worked in the country illegally before obtaining citizenship.
That explains the former White House adviser’s claims that Musk’s citizenship is illegal.
“You’re going to send other people home. Let’s start with South Africans, okay?” he stated.
Thus hinting at the Trump administration’s sweeping immigration crackdown.
Bannon said Musk’s drug use could be a potential justification for his deportation, and added that “the drug case will be investigated.”
Bannon also said he supports Trump’s latest suggestion that Musk’s large government contracts should be canceled.
And he allegedly himself, along with other officials, had previously warned Trump against overly supporting Musk.
