Tesla has made the first step into a new era – an unmanned car independently reached its customer.
This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the page of Elon Musk in the social network X.
It is noted that the electric car Model Y, without the participation of the driver, overcame the route from the company’s plant near Austin (Texas) to the buyer’s home.
The delivery was made through the city, including stretches of freeways. There were no passengers or operators in the car, and it was not remotely controlled.
The event was another stage in demonstrating Tesla’s technological progress in autonomous driving.
According to the head of artificial intelligence and autopilot of the company, the electric car reached a maximum speed of 72 miles per hour during the trip.
This event was a logical continuation of the launch of the robotic cab service, which the company launched on June 22.
As part of the project, customers were offered test rides of Model Y with the autopilot function.
