American entrepreneur and founder of SpaceX company Elon Musk announced the approximate date of the flight to Mars of the ship with a humanoid robot, Optimus.
Musk announced this in the social network X, where he shared his plans for the conquest of space by mankind.
According to him, there are only two steps and a few years left to fulfill the dream of Mars exploration.
‘Starship departs for Mars at the end of next year, carrying Optimus. If those landings go well, then human landings may start as soon as 2029, although 2031 is more likely.,’ Musk said.
The Optimus robot has maximum similarity to a human and is controlled by neural networks.
According to the developers, it can even run a household, and it has recently been taught to move steadily over rough terrain.
Elon Musk unveiled a prototype of the humanoid robot Optimus in October 2022. At that time, it was able to carry boxes and water flowers.
Earlier, it was reported that the spacecraft Crew Dragon as part of the crew of the mission Crew-10, launched to the International Space Station (ISS).
American astronauts of the Boeing Starliner crew, Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams, who were stuck in orbit for nine months instead of a week, are to return to Earth on it.
