The Ukrainian military from the Raid battalion has managed to track down and destroy a rare North Korean MLRS. This is reported by the Unmanned Systems Forces of Ukraine.
It is known that the operators of the 413th battalion of the Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed the M1991 multiple rocket launcher system manufactured by the DPRK.
The operator hit one of the projectiles on the guide package with an impact drone. The ammunition detonated and fire entered the cockpit with the crew, after which the entire ammunition detonated.
The M1991 is the North Korean equivalent of the Soviet 220 mm Uragan MLRS, but with a larger caliber – 240 mm – and a range of up to 60 km.
The availability of these systems in service with Russian forces was first confirmed in April 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that North Korean soldiers used their hands to fight off Ukrainian kamikaze drones during the battle.
Thus, the Ukrainian special forces managed to eliminate 77 untrained DPRK soldiers, who were sent into an assault by the Russian army in an open field.
