According to CNN, the Laboratory of Biorobotics at the University of Queensland in Australia has developed a special technology.
With the help of which, devices are attached to beetles and cockroaches that send electrical impulses to the insects.
This allows them to control them and direct them in the right direction.
Laboratory employee Lachlan Fitzgerald notes that the developed technology can be useful during search and rescue operations.
“What we see for the future is help after a natural disaster in a city, such as an earthquake or an explosion,” Fitzgerald said.
A team of cyborg beetles could be dispatched to quickly and efficiently navigate the scene of a disaster.
