Russian opposition leader Oleksiy Navalny died in prison

Russian authorities announced the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny in prison.

The Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug said that the Russian oppositionist died in a correctional colony.

It is reported that “all the necessary measures were carried out on him, but they did not give positive results.”

According to preliminary data, Navalny felt unwell after the walk and almost immediately lost consciousness.

The press secretary of Russian President Putin confirmed Navalny’s death.
