It became known that on October 5, a new Russian stealth drone, “Hunter,” was shot down in the Donetsk direction.
As Forbes analyst David Axe writes, Russia has only a few such drones.
And now one of them – or at least its secret wreckage – is in the hands of the Ukrainian military.
Ukrainian experts will disassemble it down to the last screw and, of course, familiarize themselves with its rich internal contents.
It is still unclear and unreported what caused the downing of the Russian drone.
At the same time, the analyst writes, although there is a possibility that the “Hunter” was shot down by a Ukrainian fighter jet.
One cannot rule out the possibility that it was shot down by the Russians themselves.
It is also noted that the “Hunter” may have encountered powerful radio-electronic interference.
Most likely, the drone is not fully autonomous and depends on stable communication with operators on the ground.
If the Okhotnik was malfunctioning, the Russians might have preferred to shoot it down rather than risk it falling into Ukrainian territory virtually undamaged.
