Chinese scientists have created a new therapy against blood cancer – it has already helped four patients.
The method is based on a virus that makes the body destroy only cancer cells.
At the moment, the technology is being tested in laboratory conditions.
Scientists explained that they have found a new way to grow and modify immune cells effective in fighting cancerous tumors.
In addition, the method allows controlling inflammation in autoimmune diseases.
The cost of the treatment is $130,000, which is four times cheaper than similar methods. The therapy is also effective in asthma and autoimmune diseases.
The development could make advanced therapies available to more patients around the world.
