Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy called Biden’s decision to skip the peace summit in Switzerland “not very strong”.
“I would very much like President Biden personally to attend the peace summit. With all due respect, I think the decision not to attend is not a very strong one.”
“I believe that President Biden needs the peace summit and needs the other leaders. Putin will give a standing ovation if Biden does not come to the Peace Summit,” the Ukrainian president said in Brussels.
Also, Zelensky noted that he still does not know who will represent the United States at the event.
It is known that Joe Biden will skip the summit for the sake of a pre-election fundraiser in Hollywood with American showbiz stars.
Ukraine hopes to host as many countries as possible at the summit in Switzerland.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, more than 80 countries will take part in this meeting.
The Global Peace Summit will be held on June 15–16 in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
Switzerland has invited more than 160 countries and international organizations, but not Russia.
