Protests in Georgia: law enforcers beat opposition leaders and a U.S. citizen in Tbilisi. This is reported by “Ekho Kavkaza”.
Protests against the law on “foreign agents” continue in the capital of Georgia.
Local TV station Formula reported that American lawyer Ted Jonas was beaten during the dispersal of the rally. His teeth were knocked out, and his nose was broken.
The security forces also beat up Levan Khabeishvili, the head of Georgia’s largest opposition party, the United National Movement, and Aleko Elisashvili, the leader of the Citizen’s Political Association.
“I don’t have any pain. My eye will pass, my body will pass, and everything will pass; the fight against Putinists must continue,” Khabeishvili said on social media.
The police used water cannons, tear gas, pepper spray and physical force against the participants in the rally.
Special forces are trying to force people out of the square. At least 30 people have sought medical attention.
