Protests against deportations in the US
The first anti-deportation protest in California since Donald Trump was elected to the US presidency.
The protest in California turned into an unruly march on a busy highway.
The protesters were reportedly dispersed by police as evening approached.
The relatives of illegal migrants, as well as the migrants themselves, came out to the action in the center of Los Angeles.
The action was held in front of the building of the immigration service with a demand to stop mass deportations.
More than 2 million illegal migrants live in California. The state is a haven for them.
Police are not helping immigration officers conduct raids, but that doesn’t mean there are no raids or deportations in the state.
