Powerful Hurricane Melissa

Powerful Hurricane Melissa could wipe Jamaica off the face of the Earth; it will be the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the region.

The National Hurricane Center has urged Jamaican residents in the US to leave their homes immediately.

Strong winds and heavy rains will lead to catastrophic and life-threatening large-scale flooding.

Experts also say that this situation could lead to numerous landslides, according to the organization.

Hurricane Melissa has now been assigned the highest fifth level of danger.

All airports and schools in Jamaica are closed. Wind speeds at the epicenter of the hurricane are reaching 175 miles per hour.
