Posts around the world have suspended delivery of parcels to the United States due to Trump’s decision to revoke their duty exemption.
Since August 23, parcels in the United States stopped accepting postal services in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Belgium. This is reported by CBS News.
Earlier, similar decisions were made by operators in India, France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, the Baltic States, South Korea, Singapore, and Australia.
And the Finnish Posti from August 22 stopped sending not only goods but also letters, as airlines refused to transport any shipments.
This came after the Trump administration decided to cancel the duty exemption for parcels costing up to $800.
The new rules go into effect as early as August 29, but a number of technical details have yet to be determined.
Initially, the repeal of the duty exemption was supposed to hit Chinese marketplaces, where Americans order goods and then receive them in the mail.
However, in fact, this measure has already caused a global disruption in the international delivery system.
