The oldest person on the planet, Brazilian nun Ina Canabarro Lucas died at the age of 116 years and 326 days.
This is reported by AFP with reference to the religious community of the city of Porto Alegre, to which she belonged.
According to the American Gerontological Research Group (GRG) after the death of Lucas, the title of super long-lived woman passed to Ethel Caterham.
Ethel is from the English county of Surrey and turned 115 years old last August.
Ina Canabarro Lucas became the world’s oldest person in January after the death of Japanese Tomiko Itooka – she was also 116 years old.
