American scientists are trying to identify the mummy of an unknown animal.
The mysterious animal was found seven years ago during repairs at the University of Michigan. This is reported by the British tabloid Daily Mirror.
The animal, which was nicknamed “kapakabra,” resembles a small domestic cat with a long, thin tail. However, its paws look like human hands.
They have five long fingers with fingernails instead of claws. The hands are covered with thin, dried skin that looks like parchment.
The exact age of the mummy is still unknown. By now it has turned out that the mysterious animal has the most in common with a raccoon.
Previous versions about the similarity to a cat, dog, rat, or opossum were rejected.
