Louvre robbers arrested at stadium
The daring robbery of the Louvre in Paris, which shocked the whole of France in October, has had an unexpected sequel.
It has been reported that some of the suspects were arrested during a national championship football match, according to France Info.
In France, law enforcement officers have arrested four people suspected of the daring robbery of the Louvre.
It is reported that the perpetrators were found in the queue for the Ligue 1 match between Paris and Lyon, where they were calmly waiting to enter the stadium.
The operation was carried out by members of the French anti-banditry brigade. According to police reports, the arrest was quick and without incident.
In total, at least seven people have been arrested in connection with the museum theft. According to investigators, one of the detainees had been under surveillance since the beginning of the investigation.
Four other detainees are suspected of having links to the organizers of the attack. Investigators believe them to be close associates of the criminals who participated in planning the robbery.
As is known, the robbery took place on the morning of October 19 and took only a few minutes. The unknown perpetrators stole nine jewels from Napoleon’s collection.
According to prosecutor Laura Beccuo, the value of the stolen items is estimated at approximately €88 million.
