The police released the wrong prisoner by mistake. In Britain, the wrong prisoner was mistakenly released for the second time in a row

London Police Mistakenly Release Wrong Prisoner for the Second Time

London Police once again found themselves at the center of a scandal due to the mistaken release of a prisoner.

According to the reputable publication The Guardian, law enforcement officers accidentally released a 24-year-old Algerian citizen.

This incident became the second similar case in the United Kingdom, sparking a wave of criticism regarding the efficiency of the prison system.

Chronology of the Mistaken Prisoner Release in Wandsworth Prison

The release occurred on Wednesday, October 29, when the prisoner, sentenced for trespassing with intent to steal, was mistakenly freed from Wandsworth Prison in London.

The man was serving a sentence for theft and trespassing, but due to an administrative error, he was declared “free.” It was only several days later, on Tuesday, November 4, that law enforcement discovered the gross mistake.

Currently, London Police have launched an intensive search for the escapee to return him behind bars.

Second Scandal Involving Mistaken Release of Prisoners in the UK

This case is not isolated: it echoes the previous scandal in the UK involving an illegal migrant from Ethiopia named Hadush Kebatu. He had been convicted of sexual crimes but was also mistakenly released.

Such incidents raise serious questions about the reliability of the UK prison system and oversight of inmates, particularly among foreign nationals.

Experts warn that these errors could lead to increased crime rates and erode public trust in law enforcement.

This incident underscores the urgent need for reforms in prison management to prevent similar prisoner release errors.
