Kadyrov begs the United States to lift sanctions on his family in exchange for the freedom of Ukrainian soldiers.
It became known that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, wants to exchange Ukrainian prisoners of war for the lifting of sanctions against his relatives.
He allegedly handed over the list of prisoners to former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter, who visited Grozny.
He was also shown a video in which Ukrainian prisoners were forced to ask the United States to lift sanctions against Kadyrov.
“There is an interesting offer for our guest. We have prisoners whom we took in Donetsk, Lugansk. I will give (the list) to our guest if they lift the sanctions from my mother, from my daughters and innocent people, horses, except me. If they add a little more sanctions against me, then we will hand over these people,” Kadyrov said.
In August 2023, Ramzan Kadyrov’s mother, Aimani Kadyrova, was added to the sanctions list.
And earlier, on September 21, 2022, the United States imposed sanctions against Kadyrov’s closest relatives and his three wives.
