Judge Uses VR Headset for First Time
A judge has used the Quest 2 VR headset to reconstruct a crime for the first time in the United States.
A Broward County judge in Florida has allowed defense attorneys to present a virtual simulation of an incident in a self-defense case.
Using Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets, the judge and trial participants were able to see the situation through the eyes of the defendant.
The defendant is the owner of a wedding venue, Miguel Albisa.
He is accused of threatening guests with a gun after he says they attacked his family.
The VR reconstruction was created based on video footage and witness testimony.
It is noted that this is the first case of using virtual reality as evidence in preliminary hearings in the US.
The judge will reportedly decide whether to send the case to the jury in February.
