The tradition of sending turkeys as a gift to the president began in the 1870s.
But the first person to officially pardon the bird was US President George Bush Sr.
A Christmas tree from North Carolina was also delivered to the White House.
It was met by First Lady Jill Biden with her grandson Beau and guests from North Carolina – Congresswoman Virginia Foxx.
