Joe Biden traditionally pardons two turkeys

Current US President Joe Biden traditionally pardoned two turkeys that were given to him on Thanksgiving Day.

Turkeys Peach and Flower arrived in Washington from Minnesota.

The tradition of sending turkeys as a gift to the president began in the 1870s.

But the first person to officially pardon the bird was US President George Bush Sr.

A Christmas tree from North Carolina was also delivered to the White House.

It was met by First Lady Jill Biden with her grandson Beau and guests from North Carolina – Congresswoman Virginia Foxx.

National Guard troops and their families were also beaten at the meeting.
