At the current rate of advancement, the aggressor Russian Federation will need centuries and tens of millions of victims to seize Ukraine.

The Forbes publication tells about such facts.

In April 2025, Russian occupiers managed to capture about 68 square miles of Ukrainian territory.

However, for the sake of this occupation, they lost 4,800 pieces of equipment and more than 36.6 thousand dead and wounded soldiers.

Such figures are given by the statistician, who collects data mainly from official Ukrainian sources, in particular, the General Staff of the AFU.

The total area of Ukraine is 233 thousand square miles, 19% of which is occupied by the Russian army.

At the current rate of advance and casualties, the Russians will capture the rest of Ukraine in 2256 at a cost of 101 million dead and wounded.

As you know, the Russian population is now 144 million.

But military analysts report that despite the huge losses, the Kremlin manages to conscript 30,000 soldiers every month.

It is also known that many wounded Russians are forcibly returned to the front and thrown into battle.

But the Russian authorities are set for a long war, which may go beyond Ukraine.
