Media reports say that military targets were attacked, but not nuclear or oil facilities, which Israel had previously planned.
It is known that a ballistic missile launching base was hit.
Dozens of strategic military facilities were attacked, including missile and drone factories.
Israeli media say that none of the missiles Iran was unable to intercept. They said the strikes were carried out by more than 100 aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets.
Israeli authorities officially later confirmed the strikes: saying it was in response to an Iranian missile attack on Oct. 1.
“The IDF’s mission is complete. If the regime in Iran makes a mistake and starts a new round of escalation – we will be obliged to respond,” Israel said.
Iranian news outlets are publishing footage of air defense systems intercepting the missiles. They say military centers in the Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam areas were attacked.
Iran says almost all the missiles were shot down and damage was minimal. The country has already restored air service interrupted overnight.
Also, Iranian media, citing officials, say Tehran is ready to retaliate against Israel.
