Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon lost one eye and severely damaged the other one

It has become known that Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mojtaba Amani has lost one eye and seriously damaged the other.

This happened as a result of yesterday’s mass explosion of pagers. This is reported by The New York Times with reference to sources.

It is also reported that the Iranian ambassador will be evacuated to Tehran for treatment.

According to the publication, the pagers, including the Iranian ambassador, beeped for about 10 seconds before the explosion.

By such actions, they forced some victims to bring the devices close to their faces.

Two of the ambassador’s guards also had pagers with them and were seriously injured in the blasts.

Sources in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps say the pagers were used only by Hezbollah members and operatives.

They were not widely distributed to ordinary citizens of the country.

Hezbollah also told the publication that six of the nine dead were its fighters.
