Iran has requested new air defense systems from Russia

During Shoigu’s visit to Tehran yesterday, Iran requested new air defense systems from Russia. Moscow has already started their delivery.

The former Russian defense minister discussed the issue of air defense supplies with Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezeshkian, and the head of the armed forces, Mohammad Bagheri.

Two Iranian officials confirmed to the NYT that Russia has already begun supplying radars and other air defense equipment.
