According to Shafaq News, the first attack targeted Harir air base, located about 15 kilometers from Erbil. The base is used by US and Iraqi forces.
A security source told the agency that the base was attacked by missiles and drones.
The second attack targeted the US consulate in Erbil. A local source told the agency that the consulate was attacked by several drones.
The source said that six explosions were heard, and alarm sirens went off in the consulate building.
U.S. officials told Reuters that “no U.S. assets were damaged by the missile strikes in Erbil.”
