Due to the huge losses of armored vehicles on the battlefield, the Russian army has begun to transfer to horses and donkeys. Forbes writes about this.
It is noted that the losses of Russian equipment in Ukraine exceeded 15,000 units.
At the same time, the production of new equipment lagged behind, and the stock of old Cold War equipment ran out at the end of 2024.
This is what forced the Russian troops to eventually switch to horse-drawn transport.

It also became known that one of the Russian units was given a donkey for transportation of ammunition to the front line instead of equipment.
Russian occupation mechanized regiments are known to lose 6,000 armored vehicles a year.
This is too many for Russian factories to replace such a large number of losses.
Russia produces about 200 new BMP-3 combat vehicles and 90 new T-90M tanks each year.
During the first two years of the war, they successfully made up for the losses by retrieving old Soviet-era equipment from long-term storage.
But now even these stocks of military equipment are being depleted in the Russians.
