An international team of scientists with the help of a supercomputer has calculated in what year life on Earth will disappear, writes the Daily Star.
A group of scientists from NASA and Japan’s Toho University came to the conclusion that life on Earth will cease to exist in about 1000002021.
The reason will be a gradual increase in temperature due to an increase in the activity of the Sun and a drop in the level of oxygen in the atmosphere.
Using powerful supercomputers, the researchers analyzed long-term changes in the Earth’s atmosphere.
According to the study, it became known that the high oxygen content in the atmosphere is a temporary phenomenon from a geological point of view.
Over time, oxygen levels will begin to decline, making the planet unsuitable for known life forms.
“Our study underscores the urgency of finding habitable planets beyond the solar system as a potential avenue for humanity’s survival,” the scientists said.
The discovery has important implications not only for understanding the future of our planet but also for the search for extraterrestrial life.
