Two power units of the Novocherkassk power plant in the Rostov region of Russia have been decommissioned.
This was confirmed by the governor of the Rostov region, Golubev, explaining the incident as a fire.
At the same time, videos are being distributed online in which the characteristic sound of a drone and explosions can be heard.
According to preliminary data, several drones took part in the attack on the power plant. Local residents write on social networks that they heard at least 10 drones flying.
The Novocherkassk power plant with a capacity of at least 2258 megawatts is the main source of electricity generation in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation.
It provides electricity to the most industrialized southwestern part of Russia.
