In France, farmers disrupted the opening of the Paris agricultural fair by staging a protest.
“Green” rules, bureaucracy and rising costs – these are the main reasons for farmers’ dissatisfaction, which resulted in protests.
They demand the government to solve these problems and the resignation of President Macron.
French farmers, on par with other EU farmers, in particular protest against competition with cheaper Ukrainian agricultural products, Reuters reports.
The Paris agricultural exhibition, which attracts about 600,000 visitors annually, was unable to open at 10:00 a.m. due to farmers’ protest.
It’s France’s main agricultural event, but its doors were still closed at 10:38 a.m. due to protesters.
Farmers’ dissatisfaction is caused by rising costs, bureaucracy and “green” regulations.
They demand the government to solve these problems, as well as the resignation of President Macron, who is considered responsible for the current situation.
“This is our home!” they shouted as ranks of French security forces tried to contain the demonstration.
