The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant for the war in the Gaza Strip.
The ICC issued the warrants for “crimes against humanity and war crimes,” the court said in its ruling.
Namely: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; crimes against humanity of murder.
Persecution and other inhumane acts; the deliberate targeting of civilians.
Israel sharply condemned the ICC’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant, accusing the court of “anti-Semitism,” The Times of Israel reported.
A number of ministers have made similar statements. They claim the war will continue.
Israel denies the accusations, pointing to the “relatively low ratio of civilians to combatants among casualties” in the Gaza Strip.
It said Hamas uses civilians as human shields, making efforts to expand humanitarian aid in the enclave.
Also, Israel says the ICC failed to allow the two independently investigate the allegations before requesting warrants.
