Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh is assassinated in Tehran
Israeli guided missile eliminated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.
Haniyeh was in his residence in Tehran. The information was confirmed by Tehran and Hamas.
Russia and Turkey expressed disapproval. Iranian media first wrote about it, and then confirmed by the Palestinian group itself.
Its movement statement noted that it was the result of an “Israeli raid” on its residence in Tehran.
It happened after Haniyeh’s participation in the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezeshkian.
Along with Haniyeh, his security guard was killed. Israeli media say that a rocket was fired at the apartment where the Hamas leader slept.
In Iran, after this, an emergency meeting of the supreme national security council was convened.
