France to transfer Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine
France will supply Ukraine with Mirage 2000 fighter jets, which will be fitted with new equipment before being handed over.
The modernized aircraft will be ready for delivery in the first half of 2025. This was announced by French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu, reports Sud Ouest
According to him, the modernization operation is being carried out at the Cazeau base in the Gironde.
“The aim is to equip them with air-to-ground combat capabilities. And to strengthen their electronic warfare system. But the most important aspect is the training of pilots and mechanics, which continues in Nancy,” the minister said.

The Mirage 2000 is France’s fourth-generation multirole fighter, which has served and continues to serve many countries around the world for decades.
Developed by Dassault in the 1970s, the aircraft was one of the most successful projects in the history of the French aviation industry.
The Mirage 2000 can perform a wide range of missions, from intercepting aerial targets to conducting precision strikes against ground targets.
The Mirage 2000 was created as a response to the emergence of new generations of Soviet fighters. Its first flight took place in 1978, and serial production began in the early 1980s.
Since then, the Mirage 2000 has participated in various military conflicts, demonstrating high performance and reliability.
