It became known that during sport fishing in Costa Rica, a rare orange nurse shark with ghostly white eyes was caught.
It is reported that this unusual shark, two meters in length, had xanthism – a pigmentation disorder.
Such a pigmentation disorder is characterized by an excess of yellow or golden hues.
Specialists say that such an anomaly has not previously been observed in cartilaginous fish such as Caribbean sharks.
In addition to xanthism, the caught shark had albinism, which caused its bright white eyes.
