Expansion of a cruise liner with new sections

Expanding a cruise ship by adding a new section allows you to upgrade the ship, increasing its size and functionality.

For this purpose, the liner is cut into two parts and a new section with additional cabins, restaurants and entertainment areas is inserted between them.

The process is carried out in specialized shipyards using powerful cranes.

This preserves the ship’s original design and improves its functionality, meeting the growing demands of passengers and extending the liner’s lifespan.

One of the most famous extensions occurred with the Independence of the Seas cruise ship.

During the upgrade, the cruise liner was extended by 73 meters.
