New details of the deal between Israel and Hamas have been revealed.
The agreement on a complete ceasefire in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas includes the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops.
They will be withdrawn from 70% of Gaza’s territory, with the simultaneous release of hostages and prisoners, an Egyptian source close to the negotiations told Sky Arabia.
According to Ynet, after the withdrawal of troops to the agreed lines, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will continue to control 53% of the Gaza Strip.
This is about 4% less than was included in the “yellow line” of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
It is reported that this line is the first stage of the withdrawal of troops after the agreement on the release of hostages.
The source also told Sky News Arabia that the first phase of the agreement includes the release of living Israeli hostages and more than 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
