Air defense systems shot down an unknown object in the sky over the Chinese province of Shandong. This was reported by the World Journal.
The incident occurred on the night of September 12. Footage of the moment of the shootdown was posted by users on social media.
According to local residents, there were two loud explosions, and then the object fell.
Users’ opinions were divided: some suggested that it was a test of an interceptor missile, while others believed that the air defense forces shot down a meteorite or even aliens.
“Air defence missile shooting down a meteorite over bohai sea in China” the author of the video captioned the post.
Witnesses said they saw an object moving at high speed in the sky. Its trajectory resembled a parabola.
In turn, officials from the Chinese province’s Emergency Management Bureau said they had not yet received any information.
