It has become known that China is discussing the sale of TikTok to American billionaire Elon Musk.
This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources. According to them, this is being considered as one of the possible options.
At the same time, the preferred strategy of the Chinese company ByteDance, which owns the social network, is to “fight bans.”
As you know, in April, the US Congress passed a law obliging ByteDance to sell the platform to an American company.
If this does not happen, they will face a ban on the social network in the United States from January 19, 2025. That is, in five days.
The company said that it will not sell the platform and intends to sue.
The US Supreme Court may put an end to the dispute. American media believe that it will approve the ban on the social network.
At the same time, Donald Trump previously stated that he would like to postpone the ban in order to find a solution for TikTok.
