It is reported that almost 50 people were injured when a car hit pedestrians in Liverpool.
27 people were taken to hospitals, including four children. Another 20 victims were treated on the spot.
This was announced at a briefing late Monday night by David Kitchen, a spokesman for the medical service.
According to police, detained earlier in connection with the incident is a 53-year-old British man.
He lives in the Liverpool area and is believed to be the driver of the vehicle.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, but authorities are not considering the version of a terrorist attack.
