Cambodia and Thailand stop hostilities

It became known that the authorities of Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to stop fighting.

Recent hostilities have become the largest clash between the countries over the past ten years.

It is reported that the talks were held in Putrajaya under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, which now chairs the regional bloc ASEAN.

Cambodia and Thailand agreed to end hostilities and resume direct contact. An immediate and unconditional ceasefire will take effect at midnight on July 29.

“We had a very good meeting and results that give hope to immediately stop the fighting that has led to many deaths,” Cambodia’s prime minister said.

Thailand’s acting prime minister said Bangkok had agreed to a truce that would be faithfully implemented by both sides.
