In the US, a boy was born from an embryo that had been stored for 30 and a half years, according to MIT Technology Review.
The article refers to him as “the oldest child.” The parents “adopted” the embryo from Linda, who underwent IVF in 1994.
Four embryos were created at that time, one of which was transferred to the woman’s uterus, resulting in the birth of a girl.
The other three embryos were cryopreserved in the hope of having another child.
The article states that storage cost Linda $1,000 a year. As a result, after several decades, she decided to give the embryos to another family.
Earlier, it was reported that new DNA research on the famous ice man Ötzi had yielded unexpected results.
Experts said that her maternal DNA line is not found in any modern human.
