Joe Biden said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost the city of Avdiivka due to a lack of ammunition. And he blamed the US Congress for this.
“The Ukrainian military was forced to withdraw from Avdiivka after Ukrainian soldiers had to ration ammunition due to dwindling supplies.”
“This happened as a result of the inaction of Congress, which led to Russia’s first notable successes in the last few months,” the US President said following a telephone conversation with Zelensky.
Therefore, Biden called on Congress to quickly approve new aid to Ukraine.
However, the issue of financial assistance may be considered in the House of Representatives only in a month.
Ukrainian General Tarnavskyi reported that the personnel had already left Avdiyivka to pre-prepared positions, preventing encirclement.
It is reported that during one of the withdrawals from the positions, several Ukrainian soldiers were captured.
