Anti-sleep lasers on highways in China

China is using a unique technology on highways that utilizes lasers to combat driver drowsiness.

The developed lasers, which create a stroboscopic effect, stimulate the optic nerve.

This action of the lasers helps drivers stay awake and focused while driving.

The system is equipped with sensors that monitor drivers’ behavior on the road.

When signs of fatigue are detected, laser projections and audible signals are activated.

These laser images are projected at night up to a distance of 2 kilometers, increasing safety on the roads.
