Annalena Burbok’s grandfather turned out to be a Wehrmacht officer
It became known that the grandfather of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock turned out to be a Wehrmacht officer.
This was reported by Bild with reference to a dossier that recently revealed this fact.
Foreign Minister Berbock herself has already stated that she did not know this before.
“Annalena Baerbock loves to talk at memorial events about her grandfather Waldemar (1913-2016) and the lessons learned from his military journey.”
“The grandfather of the Minister of Foreign Affairs appears in the Wehrmacht dossier: he served in the war as an engineer. The dossier has an assessment that Colonel Waldemar Berbock was not just an officer, but also an ardent supporter of Nazism”.
“It literally says that he was an “unconditional National Socialist,” read Hitler’s book “Mein Kampf” and “completely stood on the basis of National Socialism,” write Bild journalists.
It also became known that in 1944, grandfather Berbock was awarded the Hitler Cross “For Military Merit” with swords.
The German Foreign Ministry also stated that the minister was not aware of this.
