An icon of Christ fell in front of the Pope’s eyes
During the Easter Mass in the Vatican near Pope Francis, an icon of Jesus Christ fell down. The corresponding video was published online
On it you can see how a strong gust of wind pushes the ancient icon, and it falls near Francis.
One of those present tried to hold the icon, but he was unable to do so. Afterwards, three ministers returned the heavy support to its place.
The Italian newspaper Il Messaggero writes that online this incident has already been compared to other similar situations that have previously coincided with major changes at the Vatican.
In 2013, for example, lightning was reported to have struck St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
This occurred on the day that Pope Benedict XVI announced his intention to leave the Holy See.
