Residents of the harbor of Paradise in British Sussex came across an unusual creature that washed ashore. About it writes What’s The Jam.
Its strange appearance caused a wave of discussion in social networks, where users dubbed this find “alien”.
However, experts from Rye Harbour Nature Reserve have confirmed that it is a marine worm called a “sea mouse”.
The sea mouse is about 15 centimeters long and rarely appears on the surface, but sometimes a storm will throw these creatures ashore.
Scientists explained that the worm has a unique ability to reflect light thanks to photonic engineering.
This feature helps it deter predators in the dark depths of the sea by creating a bright coloration.
The published video shows the slow-moving creature moving along the shore. The found worm was returned to the sea.
Commentators on the network vigorously discussed the find, comparing the worm even to Donald Trump’s eyelashes and hair.
