A war veteran tried to kiss Zelensky’s hand

Volodymyr Zelensky and the First Lady of Ukraine were greeted with applause at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Allied landing in Normandy.

When asked by a journalist if Zelensky hopes to land an amphibious assault in Ukraine one day, he replied, “Yes, I hope so”

Also during the celebrations, one of the World War II veterans tried to kiss Zelensky’s hand. 

But the Ukrainian leader stopped him in time, hugged him, and thanked the veteran for saving Europe.
