Thousands of Indonesian residents were forced to leave their homes.

They were evacuated after the eruption of the Levotobi Laki-Laki volcano, located in the province of East Nusa Tenggara.

As a result of the eruption, local authorities raised the danger level to maximum.

The eruptions of Levotobi Laki-Laki occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the ash column reached a height of 10 kilometers on Wednesday.

According to data from the Levotobi volcano observation post, the first major eruption occurred on Tuesday.

The National Disaster Management Agency warned residents and tourists to stay away from the center of the eruption and listen to the authorities.

Indonesia has 120 active volcanoes and is located along the Ring of Fire, a seismic fault zone surrounding the Pacific Ocean.
