A vandal destroyed the altar in St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and damaged several candelabras. About it informs the edition Messaggero.

It is reported that in the presence of tourists, a man climbed under the bronze canopy and began to scatter candelabras and bedspreads.

Six candelabras were damaged by his actions. The total cost of damaged church paraphernalia is 30 thousand euros.

The security detained the hooligan, who turned out to be a 40-year-old Romanian citizen.
